From BURNOUT TO Balance
Welcome, my name is Megan. I am a yoga teacher and an intensive care nurse. It is my mission to help others find more balance and feel less stressed and anxious through the practice of yoga.
I attended my first yoga when I was 12 years old and may not have regularly practiced since then but I have always found my way back to the practice, particularly during the pandemic.
After about a year of working as a newly qualified nurse in intensive care during the pandemic, I found myself struggling with burnt out. My anxiety levels had reached an all time high - my heart constantly felt like it was beating out my chest and felt like I could never catch a breath, I spent the majority of my days off sleeping until the afternoon, cried more than I laughed and felt like a shell of a person I once was. I was full prepared to quit nursing but just wasn’t prepared to throw away everything I trained for and had no idea what my next steps could be.
Instead of quitting my job with no plan, I sought out help and started work with a life coach who helped get me back to what truly mattered to me and what I wanted out of life. This brought me back to the practice of yoga and lead me to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training at Meadowlark in Edinburgh.
Returning to yoga was a transformative journey that revived my spirit during some of my most trying times as a burnt-out nurse during the pandemic. Yoga not only helped me heal but reignited my passion for nursing, empowering me to serve others with a refreshed heart and mind.
Now, I am passionate about sharing the supportive practices of yoga with others, especially to those who may be feeling overwhelmed, burnt out or in need of more balance and peace in their lives. So, whether you’re looking to start your yoga journey, overcome challenges on and off the mat or connect with a community of like-minded others, I am here to support you along the way.

CONNECTION
Connection is at the heart of my teaching. I believe that true well-being begins with reconnecting to yourself—your body, your breath and your inner state.
At the start of every class, I take the time to guide you into the present moment, encouraging you to notice how you feel physically, emotionally and mentally. Through this process, I aim to foster a deeper sense of connection—not only with yourself but also with the community around you, as we share space and energy together.
TRAUMA-INFORMED
As a trauma-informed yoga teacher, I try my very best to create a supportive space where everyone can feel empowered and at ease in their practice. I believe in honouring each individual's unique journey, ensuring that my teaching is inclusive, accessible and rooted in compassion and respect for all bodies and experiences.
My approach is centered on non-judgement, inclusivity, using non-triggering language and offering choices that honor each individual’s unique needs and boundaries on any given day.
HOLISTIC YOGA
My classes are not about touching your toes or standing on your hands - I blend asana (physical poses), pranayama (breath work) and meditation to support the well-being of your whole self—mind, body and soul.
I aim to encourage you to tune in to your body’s needs, deepen your self-awareness and create a practice that nourishes every aspect of your life. Whether you're looking to reduce stress, build inner strength or find inner calm, my classes are created to help you find balance on and of the mat.

Life can be so busy and it can be so hard to prioritise your health and wellbeing and get yourself to the yoga studio, especially between shift work.
This is why I choose to host classes in-person, online and via a monthly membership with an on-demand video library to help you practice yoga anytime, anywhere. With online classes all you need to do is roll your mat out, turn your device on and you are ready to breathe, move and nourish.
Sometimes 10-15 minutes a day of breathing and movement may be just what you need to help you feel good inside and out.
Styles of classes I teach

A dynamic style of yoga that is practiced by linking the breath with movement. You will move through sun salutations, standing and seated poses put together in a creative sequence.
Expect to move with breath, build heat and cultivate strength and flexibility.
This class is open to all levels, all classes are created with options to accommodate both those new to yoga and those who have an experienced practice.

A slower, gentler style of Vinyasa flow. In these classes you will move through sun salutations, seated poses and standing poses linked together with the breath.
Expect to move with ease, allowing time to explore each pose, deepen your breath and create space within the body. This slower pace encourages mindful movement, promoting relaxation, balance, and a sense of calm while still building strength and flexibility
This class is open to all levels, all classes are created with options to accommodate both those new to yoga and those who have an experienced practice.

A style of yoga that is practiced by combining dynamic movement to build energy and the restorative poses of yin to deeply stretch the body and calm the mind.
Expect to flow through sequences that build heat and energy, followed by restorative yin poses to help release tension. This practice balances strength with surrender, help you to feel both energised and grounded, with a sense of calm and inner peace.
This class is open to all levels, all classes are created with options to accommodate both those new to yoga and those who have an experienced practice.
